”My husband and I recently went to Charleston to help our daughter move into her new home. We had the opportunity and pleasure of staying in the Riverhouse located inside Lowndes Grove. During our stay we learned all about the restoration and preservation Patrick Properties did to the property. Anyone interested in history and preservation would really enjoy this property and the lessons. The accommodations were superb as was the service we received by the staff. My husband and I loved the seclusion and privacy we felt while staying on the property. It was hard to believe the highway and the historical district was as close as it is. The properties landscape and views of the river are just breath taking. Though we did not attend an event while staying there, we did observe one that was taking place and I must say I was impressed. The food looked scrumptious. This property is definitely a must stay for anyone who wants to enjoy Charleston at its finest.”

I’d like to share a quick email that was sent to our Director of Sales from a couple who stayed in an overnight suite at Lowndes Grove. This particular couple also happened to have been married at Lowndes Grove several years ago. It’s a feel-good note. It’s a note that reminds us why we do what we do. Why we work nights and weekends. Why we stress over table layouts, welcome baskets and the perfect presentation. Why we do everything we can to ensure our guests receive the finest hospitality experience that we are capable of offering.

Dear Ashley,

I want to express how much we enjoyed our stay at Lowndes Grove, but it goes beyond the sentimentality of staying at the place we were married. Patrick Properties went above and beyond to make our Anniversary/homecoming a truly special time. Stephanie was so helpful, from suggesting activities to making reservations. She was always available yet never intrusive. The staff at Fish Restaurant were excellent; we were treated so well. And the food – amazing! … We will certainly dine at Fish on our next visit to Charleston, and look forward to the next time we have opportunity to interact with Patrick Properties.

1. Gil Shuler has a blog. And it’s as inspiring and funny as the man himself. Fantastic vintage advertising, packaging, art and current projects including a vintage canister for poultry laxative. Folks, you can’t make that up.

2. Based upon on all the knowledge currently on the Interwebs, eating bacon does not induce or encourage the onset of swine flu. Very.happy.sigh.

3. Interesting NYT article on restaurant recession deals. How do you package them and more importantly, how do they taste?

4. Spring/Summer Specials at Lowndes Grove and The William Aiken Carriage House are about to be announced. I’m talking vacation or staycation, kids. And I am talking super cool accommodations. Stay tuned.
