Sorry for the hiatus, Internet. Patrick Properties has seen its fair share of activity this summer and we admit you’ve been neglected. We promise to be more attentive. What has kept us so busy? Here’s the short list:

1. Launching the new summer menu at Fish. My recommendation: The poached egg dumpling. Duck Confit, goat cheese, truffle frisée salad, bacon, basically all good things rolled up into one outrageous dumpling with some delicious on the side.

2. Welcoming a new Sales Director and a new Sales Manager. Ashley Gunnin, former GM of Lowndes Grove has signed on as our new Director of Sales. Sarah Copeland, also of Lowndes Grove fame, will be joining her as our new Sales Manager. Congratulations to you both!

3. Revamping our Facebook page. Check us out: Fish

4. Mixing Bombay Sapphire cocktails. Fish Manager Evan Powell’s attempt to win a spot in GQ magazine (more on this later this week).

5. Hosting unforgettable weddings and events.

6. Oh, and throwing a little Bastille Day fête. Over 300 guests joined us for Fish’s first Bastille Day celebration on July 14th. The evening was a huge success and a feast for all the senses, including French food displays with paté and cheeses, pétanque (bocce) on King Street, a massive French Flag flying from the American Theater, accordion and violin players, can-can dancers from Charleston Ballet Theatre, a Marie Antoinette ballerina, live chickens and a slew of French natives conversing in French all evening long. It’s going to be difficult to top next year, but no worries, we’re already brainstorming. There’s been mention of a guillotine on more than one occasion… stay tuned.

Since we just happen to have a resident Frenchman in the house at Fish, we thought it might be fun to throw a little shindig for Bastille Day. So, we got together with the amazing mother/daughter duo (Martine & Emilie) at Dulles Designs and started scheming, I mean, planning.

Fun fact about Dulles Designs: Mrs. Dulles love affair with stationery began when she opened her first shop in Switzerland!

Anywho, about Bastille Day…it’s my belief that this may turn into QUITE the Fish tradition. Here’s why:

Live French music. Yes! Accordian, bass and a mystery French guest chanteuse!

Live entertainment courtesy of the nimble bodies of The Charleston Ballet

A $6 French bar menu

Specials on Pernod & Absinthe (If you’ve never had Absinthe, read this.)

A $35 Lyon-inspired prix-fixe menu

Petanque (the French version of bocce, in case you didn’t know)

And more but why give it all away now, kids?

It suffices to say that if you’re in anywhere in the vicinity of 442 King Street on Tuesday, July 14, starting at 5 pm, you should plan on paying us a visit. Guaranteed memories. And photo opportunities galore. Just sayin.

Stay tuned.
