A fantastic group of local businesses came together last night upstairs at Fish for a Lowcountry Local First meeting announcing the launch of the 10% Shift. You can call it the Lowcountry’s stimulus plan, kids.
The premise is simple: shift 10% (or more) of our annual budgets from non-local businesses to locally owned and independent businesses. Yes, local, local, local, people.
Think Lesesne, Suite Sole, Sugar Bakeshop and Kudu. Think about your friends and neighbors who work hard, say hey to you on the street and know exactly the way you like your coffee or your hair. (No, not necessarily at hte same place.) Know what I’m saying? I think you do.
If you’re dedicated to the 10% shift and why on earth wouldn’t you be, you’ll just have to attend the LAUNCH PARTY! July 10, 10 Storehouse Row from 7 – 10 pm. Admission is just 10 cents. One thin dime and you’re in!
And just think. All of your local friends will be there.
