What a great weekend! How was yours? Good I hope. Started off with an anniversary toast for Fish on Friday night. It has been one whole year since Fish reopened after major renovation and expansion. Can you believe it? I know, me neither. It has been a great year for the restaurant full of great people, fun times and fantastic food. Highlight of the anniversary: the cake that Pastry Chef Susanna Ieronemo whipped up. She could totally be on Ace of Cakes.

Yes, the whole thing was edible, and yes, it was delicious.

Saturday’s moo shu tent at the market was super successful. We spread the word about our $10 moo shu lunch special and new kid’s menu, and provided the crowd with some entertainment during the moo shu eating competition. Good clean fun on a beautiful day. I’ve just uploaded two photo albums to Fish’s facebook page for more photos on the weekend’s activities and Susanna’s cake.

That would have made for a great weekend alone, but then Sunday I floated down the Edisto River all day. And I do mean all day. Ever done it? Great relaxing way to spend a Sunday in the outdoors and sunshine. Great reminder why I love living in Charleston.

Lovely cake. I bet that it was mighty tasty too. The croque-em-bouche part must have been pretty strong to hold up the entire aquarium. Although it looks like I can see a nice foundation in there!
